- The collection includes three volumes of student drawing exercises, a notebook containing a railroad practice survey performed in West Hebron, N.Y., and a poem about engineers. Many of the drawing exercises have been disfigured by mold damage

- Leopold F. Goeller was born in 1899 and attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where he earned his civil engineering degree in 1923. After graduation he became Superintendant of the Charles Goeller Construction Company in Newark, New Jersey. During the 1930s and 1940s he held various supervisory positions in the Works Progress Administration in Virginia, and later became a project engineer for the Celanese Fibers Company in Narrows, Virginia.
