This collection consists of visual information (notebook, album and photographs) relating to his years at RPI and his work with the Norfolk and Western Railroad. The student drawing notebook includes exercises in machine drawing, stone cutting, perspective, etc. The photograph album displays faculty and classmates, as well as the interiors and exteriors of RPI buildings. The railroad photographs, the bulk of which are labeled, present vivid images of railroad, tunnel and bridge construction of the Norfolk and Western Railroad in Virginia
Biographical or historical data
John A. Clark of Wilmington, Del., died March 22, 1950. Mr. Clark, born in Wilmington, July 2, 1865, received his degree of civil engineering from Rensselaer in 1887. He was a member of Sigma Xi and the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
