Biographical or historical data
Herbert Eugene Miller, Class of 1909, was born in New York City in 1885. After graduating from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a degree in civil engineering, he worked as a transitman with G. A. Ronllier, a civil engineer and city surveyor in New York City. He then spent two years as an inspector for the Board of Water Supply, also in New York City. In 1916 he began working as an engineer with architect William Higginson and continued to do so until he became a Resident Engineer with Lockwood Greene Engineers, Inc. in 1925. In the 1930s and 40s he was a partner in the firm Kolb and Miller, Architects and Engineers and was later associated with Degenhardt, Miller and Lindberg.
